What Lubri-Brake is
Lubri-Brake is an aerosol brake parts cleaner, not an oil or grease. Its non-chlorinated formulation contains no chlorinated solvents, CFCs or ozone-depleting solvents. The label identifies powerful flushing action and a high-solvency formulation for brake linings, drums, disc pads and most other metal brake parts.
Lubri-Loy has blended lubricants in the USA since 1949. Lubri-Brake continues that focus on product quality with a made-in-U.S.A. cleaner and access to its original label and Safety Data Sheet.
Verified cleaning benefits
The supplied label identifies the following benefits. These claims do not replace the handling instructions or the SDS.
- Removes brake fluid, grease and oil.
- Evaporates fast and leaves no residue.
- Powerful flushing action and high solvency for brake parts.
- No chlorinated solvents, CFCs or ozone-depleting solvents.
Automotive, fleet and industrial brake applications
The label lists automobiles, trucks, buses, motorcycles, forklifts and other heavy equipment. Listed parts include disc rotors, brake linings, brake drums, brake pads and other brake parts.
This is a professional and industrial-use product. The references to vehicles and equipment do not make it suitable for every material on those assemblies. Keep spray away from rubber parts and avoid plastics and rubber as directed by the source documents.
How to use it, and where not to spray
Review the complete label and SDS first. Work outdoors or in a well-ventilated area, wear eye protection and keep all ignition sources away.
- Spray brake parts liberally and allow the cleaner to run off.
- Allow to air dry or wipe with a clean, dry rag.
- Repeat for extra-heavy deposits of grease, oil or brake fluid.
- Do not allow spray to contact rubber parts. Avoid plastics and rubber; review SDS incompatibilities.
Extremely flammable aerosol: safety comes first
DANGER: Extremely flammable aerosol. The container is pressurized and may explode if heated. The product causes serious eye irritation and may cause drowsiness or dizziness.
Non-chlorinated does not mean nonflammable. Keep away from heat, sparks, open flames and hot surfaces. Do not smoke or spray on an open flame or other ignition source. Do not pierce or burn the container, even after use.
Protect from sunlight and do not expose to temperatures above 122°F / 50°C. Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area, avoid breathing mist, vapors or spray, and wear eye protection. Keep out of reach of children.
The SDS identifies NFPA 30B Level 3 aerosol storage and DOT UN1950, Aerosols, flammable, Class 2.1. Review the original SDS for the complete storage, handling and transport information.
WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including Benzene, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.
Read the original SDS and label
The Lubri-Brake Safety Data Sheet is dated 11/06/2026, Version 1.0. Both downloadable PDFs are the original supplied files, unchanged.
Emergency contact information differs between the sources: the label lists CHEMTREC 1-800-424-9300, while the SDS lists (877) 582-7456 as the 24-hour emergency number. Consult the source documents; this article does not silently replace either number.
